A Smelly Hotel

Orange4My friend Kare Anderson posted earlier this week about Marriott's intent to focus on recreating their lobbies. She opined that a true visitor experience runs the gamut from the first smell to the last sound. So true.

Which got me thinking about my last few experiences in Bill's hotels. For those that frequent Marriott, you know that they recently started stocking their bathrooms with shampoo and body lotion from Bath & Body Works. Orange Ginger to be specific.

And that is the overwhelming smell in a Marriott lobby at check-out. Everybody you pass smells like oranges. Cracks me up everytime.

So, Marriott does have its own smell...intentional or not.
