I stayed at the Inn at Jim Thorpe at the end of the summer and they had the coolest "green" product I've ever seen. The bars of soap had holes in the middle of them. The packaging said that the reason for the whole was because the center part of the bar of soap is never really used (unless you're staying at the hotel for a week).

On the other hand, much to my dismay, the housekeeping staff in the hotels I've stayed at, rarely follow the "please re-use your towels" sign that's posted in the bathroom. Whenever I stay at a hotel, I always hang my towels up after using them. However, my used towels are always replaced with new ones. So much for doing my part.

Love the rationale for the soap holes...and I bet it put a smile on your face to boot.
