The President takes a swipe at Vegas. John Kerry is targeting meetings and conventions. NBC's Brian Williams says he's skipping his summer vacation because it wouldn't look right.
And the media is complicit in the witch-hunt to paint anything that isn't an absolutely necessity of life as a frivolous extravagance.
Which doesn't make sense, because 70% of our national economy is based upon consumption. If the media succeeds in scaring us out of buying, business will stop buying ads. If business stops buying ads, media folds.
At least it will be a whole lot quieter...
Thanks to my buddy Mike Foster for the catch...
Need to follow Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage" - We got to keep the loonies on the path!
I know it will be hard, but we need to before they bring us all down.....

We really need to start with the Congresspersons in our own backyard. At least, in theory, they'll listen to us. Can we ask for leadership, maybe some good words for travel, maybe some support for learning and doing business at metings & conventions rather than this rampant duck & run defense?
Can we mobilize the tourism industry in Wisconsin to get our Senators Kohl & Feingold - and our Representatives, to stand up and start saying something positive about this industry? How about our governor? How about our Tourism Secretary? Will someone show some leadership - some courage -- please?!
Somebody had better make the argument that tourism is a vital wheel in this economic machine, that the livelihood of tens of thousands of hospitality workers and businesses rides the balance here and we're pummeling a great green positive contributor to our economy. Or we can all just stock up on Cliff Bars crawl into Snugggies and vacation in the root cellar.
