One of the grocery stores I frequent has cash registers that don't just tell the cashier how much change to produce...but actually show pictures of the currency and coins. Yeah...a picture of a $5 bill and a big silver coin, a littler silver coin and two bronze coins. It reminds me of the educational computer game with which my youngest daughter learned about money...when she was freaking 4!
I thought of that the other day as I rose to say the Pledge of Allegiance at the opening session of a conference I was attending...and noticed that the words to the Pledge were on the screen behind the podium!
This is by no means a shot at the Conference organizers...they may actually be onto something. But it does make me wonder, in a world where we make it easy for people to be morons, just how dumb are we gonna become?
Yikes. Of course you get the words to the Star Spangled Banner on the Jumbotron when your at the ballpark as well.
