It's called CONSEQUENCE, people. Every action produces a result.
But, I guess if you're California Governor Jerry Brown, you don't need to think of the consequences of your actions. How else to explain his executive order this week that bans all travel by State employees (unless it's "mission critical").
"Now is not the time to attend conferences, travel to meetings or take out-of-state field trips and this Executive Order puts an end to it," he said.
Yeah...because, clearly, the State's employees already have all the answers they need to extricate California from its budget crisis. No need to network with peers to develop revolutionary solutions. No need to learn new strategies. Nah, you've got it all going on.
'Cept, when you stop State travel, there are consequences to more than just the State budget. There are those that pesky little issues of the resulting increase in the unemployment rate and decreasing local tax generation for your cash-strapped cities that will ocurr as the Hospitality Industry takes yet another economic hit through this action.
Jerry Moonbeam, indeed.
