The Simplicity of Old Hotels

I stayed in one on my last trip east. The kinda place where you cringe as you walk in the room. Not quite "Mayhem creepy," but close.

As I tried to figure out the climate control before climbing into bed, I read the following instructions (click to enlarge, if you don't believe me):

TO COOL YOUR ROOM (During Winter Operation):

Turn Off Fan. Open the Window if necessary.

I'm not sure I have a punchy retort for that...
