The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill limiting spending on meetings by federal agencies.
And, yes...I share your anger at the wasteful federal conference spending that gave Congress the opening to grandstand on this issue. According to Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX), "expenses like mind readers, clowns, line dancing lessons and a Star Trek video are not a good use of taxpayers’ hard-earned money.” True Dat.
But meetings aren't the issue. Bad hires are.
Do we really need a new law because the Federal Government has a knack for hiring people that try to take advantage of the system?
Apparently.
Typical knee jerk reaction instead of dealing with the idiots the Gov't hires. Doesn't DMAI or BrandUSA have anyone in place to counter this group think?

They tried…but it's hard to counter legislators' need to grandstand in front of an unsophiticated electorate with only logic and facts at our disposal.
