Bill, I recall that we discussed this about ten years ago. Duane is bang on the mark. Despite our combined efforts through books, articles, blogs and presentations the needle is not moving much on this one. Many DMOs are off the path from the very first steps of their branding journey. This should be about developing a strategy and toolkit to make the place more competitive, not simply a new logo, tagline or an ad campaign. It's sad to see so many start with great intentions, but fail straight out of the box. We'll continue to carry the flag!
