An artist can be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first album. So what the hell has taken the Hall another 15 years to recognize one of the most influential bands in rock history?
Cheap Trick was officially placed into nomination earlier this week (along with the Cars, Steve Miller, Yes, Deep Purple and others). So, it's up to us to vote early and often to right this egregious wrong.
On this Music Friday, we celebrate with a Rockford TV crew's capture of that city's favorite sons coming back to rock the Fairgrounds in 1979 (a show that I'm pretty sure I attended). And, one of the very few video clips online that features Kirk Dyer, Road Manager extraordinaire and "the voice" that opened the classic Live at Budokan album (and, former Manager of the Taste of Madison).
Cheap Trick returns home to celebrate their 40th Anniversary at Rockford's sensational Coronado Theatre on November 21...and only a handful of tickets remain.
