Bill, I love your ability to succinctly get to an issue, but the above issue needs more....tell me more!

At least for me, this gets to the old-school "rule" that a DMO shouldn't do any marketing within a 70-mile radius, as consumers living within that circle are not likely to spend the night. These two individuals (and others in the group) were pushing back on that notion and encouraging the DMO to not let a focus on overnight guests inadvertently block locals from learning about all the cool aspects of a community that the DMO promotes.

While most DMOs operate using taxes generated by hotels, the "Prime Directive" shouldn't be limited by only focusing on overnight visitors. Indeed, every visitor is valuable to these attractions...even those that reside in the next town over.
