It is still as vital and as seminal a rock 'n roll song as has ever been written.
50 years ago last month, the Troggs released the punk-before-there-was-punk "Wild Thing." As CNN's Todd Leopold wrote, "it's stupid and defiant, powerful and primitive, everything rock 'n' roll ever wanted to be in 2 minutes and 30 seconds."
We could go a hundred different directions on this Music Friday (we shared one of the covers a few months ago) and, it's been a while since we've featured Tom Petty (who'll be on tour this summer with his first band, Mudcrutch). So, here's a rare video of the Heartbreakers goofing around in the studio from what looks like the Damn the Torpedoes era.
