The alternative reality in which we now live (thanks to the 24/7 media's reticence to call a lie a lie and "fake news"...which is far from new) is enough to spin anyone's head, exorcist style.
But, one of the most measured analysis of where American Tourism finds itself in the wake of the President's Executive Order has come from Travel Weekly's Arnie Weissmann.

I have always felt that it's not just what you do, it's how you do it, and not what you say, but how you say it. In an effort to better screen those entering the country, the administration has taken the wrong path to get the mission accomplished. In the process, many of those who want to travel outbound and those who want to visit inbound will have reason to pause and reconsider. Some will go ahead with their trips, others will chose to stay home. If this happens in large numbers, those who work in the travel industry lose, and we all have a big bruise on our reputation.
