I agree, Bill. Tom Rivera was one of the key architects in crafting the Illinois tourism funding program that still exists today. He was a tireless advocate and strategic visionary for the tourism industry. I was privileged to learn from him, and honored to recognize him at our industry conference this week.

So wish I could have been there!

Congratulations Tom! So long overdue and so very much deserved. I can't believe you haven't accumulated several of these awards...

Glad to know you are chugging along and keeping your eyes on the target. You are a blessing to many, myself among them. Consider me one of your "Angels" from long ago.

Deepest affection and appreciation,
Marie (Earley) DiBello

BTW, I'm living in Bloomingdale Illinois. My forever Sweetheart Lou passed away March 7, 2017 from pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in September 16, and passed away in March. As you might imagine, a big part of me went with him.

I was also saddened to learn our dear friend Donna Shaw has left us as well.

My love to you and all who might remember me.

How could we forget you? And so sorry to hear about Lou.

Those were great years, back in the Illinois Tourism Wars :) Fond memories.
