DMOs are going to find themselves at the crucial junctions between economic sustainability and environmental sustainability. Some communities may mistakenly try to demolish their DMO and its budget in a futile attempt to stop the growth of tourism. Instead they should possibly be reconsidering the vision, mission and role of the organization and its budget to better manage these complexities. Others will have to follow Sedona's example.
