As the Music Industry begins to count those infected by COVID-19, one can only deduce that the government's failure to take this seriously in January is the cause. And, that's to our eternal shame.
On Wednesday, we lost Adam Schlesinger. You may not know the name...but you know the hits. His band Fountains of Wayne had the '80s hit, "Stacy's Mom" and co-wrote the Oscar-winning theme song to the Tom Hanks movie, "That Thing You Do." Yeah...as you shelter in place, it's a movie you should love.
This past week, we also lost Joe Diffie, whose Country song "Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox," is sadly prescient. But, I hope he'd enjoy the irony of being one of this week's Friday Music finds.
Here's hoping Heaven is everything he imagined...and more.
Godspeed to you both.
