Michael Jackson's moon walk helped propel him to superstar status. Don't get me wrong, his musical chops were significant...but his dance moves completed the package.
But, in the '60s and '70s, James Brown blew people away with his voice and his footwork in an era in which we couldn't completely absorb his talent in a world in which streaming and MTV wasn't even a thing. But, there are video clips of his magic...and an enterprising editor has blessed us with this compendium of the Godfather of Soul.
And, of course, his turn in the Blues Brothers. And Doctor Detroit, And Rocky IV.
Hard to believe its been almost 20 years since he left terra firma under mysterious circumstances.
On this Music Friday, Eddie Murphy played him best. And, of course, on SNL.
Godfather of Soul, indeed.
Loved it!
